Welding Pathways Explained

Welding

Welding is the process of joining pieces of metal together using heat, and it’s used in many industries to build and fix things like cars, buildings, ships, bridges, and even aircraft.

Welders use special tools and safety gear to melt and fuse metal parts, creating strong and lasting joins.

You’ll learn different welding techniques, how to read technical drawings, work safely with tools and heat, and check your work to make sure it’s strong and accurate.

It’s a great career choice if you enjoy hands-on work, working with metal, and building things that last.

Studying welding can lead to careers such as:

  • Welder or Fabricator
  • Sheet Metal Worker
  • Pipefitter
  • Mechanical Engineering Technician
  • Vehicle or Aerospace Welder
  • Shipbuilding or Offshore Welder
  • Welding Inspector
  • Welding Engineer
  • Workshop Supervisor
