‘What I wish my parents or carers knew…’: A guide for parents and carers on managing children’s digital lives

The Children’s Commissioner, Dame Rachel de Souza, has published a guide to help keep children safe online in today’s fast-changing digital world. The guide is designed to make these conversations easier and empower parents and carers to support their children with confidence.

Helping You Keep Your Child Safe Online

As part of the Digital Resilience Group, we’re committed to supporting families across Middlesbrough in creating a safer online environment for young people. This resource has been developed to raise awareness among parents and carers about practical steps you can take to help keep your child safe online.

Our primary aim is to empower you with clear, actionable advice to protect your child online. Alongside this, we also share supportive messages for young people, in partnership with trusted organisations such as Mind, Kidscape, and Become, to promote wellbeing and resilience.

This initiative is brought to you by the Middlesbrough Operational Prevent/Risk and Resilience Team, working together with members of the Digital Resilience Steering Group.
