Gain industry skills with hands-on work placements
Real-world experience gives you a real advantage, that’s why work placements are a key part of college life. Many of our qualifications will require you to take on a work placement. These can last from 10 days up to 45 days, depending on the requirements of your chosen course.
Why do I need to do a work placement?
Work placements are a key part of your study programme and are a great opportunity to:
- Build real-world skills and grow your confidence
- See how your course connects to the workplace
- Explore different career paths and decide what’s right for you
- Meet professionals and learn about their roles and responsibilities
- Discover your strengths and interests
- Become more independent and take on responsibility
- Boost your CV and gain references for future jobs
If you are enrolled onto a T Level programme, you will be required to take on a 45-day placement to help you achieve your qualification.
How many hours will I need to do?
The number of work placement hours and days will vary depending on your course. Some courses require you to complete at least 10 days of meaningful work experience throughout the year, while others have a set number of hours that must be completed as part of your qualification.
