Course overview

This qualification is designed for college learners who are looking to start a career in engineering and specialisation in Fabrication and Welding, and adult learning wishing to upskill. They are not designed to test already competent welders, and requirements such as welds being subject to mechanical testing; a condition of welding approval certificates such as ASME 9 or EN 287 EN 9606 are not built into these qualifications. This qualification requires the student to display health and safety competency, and produce two welded test pieces meeting the qualification standard.
