Leadership & Management
Leadership and Management courses teach you how to guide people and run an organisation effectively. It focuses on the skills needed to keep a business or team functioning smoothly, such as planning, organising, motivating others, solving problems and making confident decisions. Whether it’s a small shop, a school, a charity, a hospital or a large company, every organisation relies on strong leaders and managers to help it succeed.
In a Leadership and Management course, you’ll learn how to inspire and support a team, communicate clearly, handle challenges, and manage change, while also developing the skills to create business plans, organise resources, set targets, and make decisions that help an organisation grow. You’ll explore what makes a good leader, how to build trust, and how to bring out the best in others. This course is ideal if you enjoy working with people, thinking strategically, taking responsibility and improving how things are done.
Marketing
Marketing is all about understanding people and helping businesses connect with them. It’s how companies figure out what people want, how to tell them about it, and how to make them want to buy it. Marketing is what makes you notice your favourite brands, trust them, and want what they’re offering.
Marketing can lead to some fun and fast-moving jobs. You could become a social media manager, brand manager, market researcher, advertising executive, digital marketer, or even a content creator. It’s a great path if you enjoy being creative, working with people, solving real-world problems, and making things look and sound awesome.

It’s not all classroom based for our business students; step into the shoes of professionals with live brief projects and collaborations.
In one standout project, students partnered with the Meldrum Group to plan and host a professional networking event. Working in teams, they managed every aspect, from budgeting and promotion to venue booking, catering, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
Another group joined an initiative with the MFC Foundation and Teesside Park, where they explored the retail and leisure sector. Through behind-the-scenes tours and industry talks, students gained valuable insights into a wide range of career pathways.
