Retrain Advanced Technical Diploma in Plumbing – Level 3

Modules include:

Learners interested in the Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Plumbing will study theoretical aspects of the subject and apply them to practical tasks.

Compulsory topics include:

• Engineering materials
• Planning and overseeing electrical work activities
• Domestic central heating systems planning and design
• Principles and requirements of environmental technology systems
• Domestic sanitation system installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques
• Cold water systems planning and design
• Hot water systems planning and design
• Building services site procedures and planning

This is a 34 week course, studied between September to June.

Learners will be in college for 14 hours per week.

Days and times will be dependent on the learner groups and can be discussed during the application process with the course leader.

Learners are required to have achieved a Level 2 qualification in plumbing to progress to this course, and have GCSE Grade 9-4 (A*-C) in English language and maths.

You will learn and be assessed by a mixture of practical activities and online multiple-choice tests.

The course is assessed through assignments, Practical end point assessments and theoretical examinations.

You can progress onto further study with the HNC in Building Studies or NVQ Level 2 or 3, if employment is gained with a plumbing company.

Please note: some retrain courses share classes with our full-time students. In these cases, we must give places to 16-18 year olds first, as they are required to stay in education. If there are any places left during enrolment, we may be able to offer you a place.
