Diploma in Hair and Media Makeup – Level 2

• Working in Beauty Related Industries
• Follow Health and Safety Practice
• Client Care and Communication
• Apply Make-Up
• Provide Eyelash and Brow Treatments
• Create an Image Based Theme
• The Art of Photographic Make-Up
• Body Art Design
• Apply Skin Tanning Techniques
• The Art of Colouring Hair
• The Art of Dressing Hair
• Make and Style a Hair Addition
• Underpinning Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology

English and maths or ICT will also form an important and mandatory part of your course.

Alongside this qualifications you will also complete a Level 2 Certificate in Enterprise.

September – June

You must have achieved three GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, including maths and English Language and/or appropriate Level 1 qualification.

You will be assessed through theory and practical related assessments.

You can progress onto a Level 3 Hair and Media Make-up course.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home-fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

All full-time students will be offered a number of options to secure at least 10 days of meaningful work experience during the year. This is an important aspect of the course and will help to develop your skills to get a job, progress to a higher level qualification at Middlesbrough College or potentially gain a place at university.
