Katie Wedlake
After gaining high grades in her Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business course, Katie Wedlake has secured a marketing apprenticeship with Cleveland Cables. She shared her experience of studying at Middlesbrough College.
“I’ve really enjoyed my Business course at Middlesbrough College. The modules have been interesting and engaging.
“I joined Middlesbrough College as it offered the BTEC and vocational courses as well as A Levels. I came along to an open event to find out more about what was available. I was also looking at Catering and Hospitality courses but chose to enrol on the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business as I had enjoyed studying business at GCSE and like the different career paths.
“The tutors on the course have been great. I’ve been able to message them when I’ve had a question or needed help and they always messaged me back straight away. They helped me to prepare for my exams.
“The course has helped me gain skills to help me with my future career. I enjoyed the modules about organising events and through the different assignments, I’ve developed skills in time keeping and meeting deadlines.
“One of my highlights from the course has been a trip to Newcastle, where we visited Northumbria University in the morning and spent the afternoon in the city centre.
“With the skills I have gained from my Business course, I have secured a Level 3 Content Creator apprenticeship with Cleveland Cables. I enjoy making different types of content for marketing platforms, my favourites being Tik Tok and Instagram, and have previously helped my dad with content for his business. I’m looking forward to progressing in content creation and hope one day to build my own social media business supporting clients.
“I would definitely recommend the Business courses at Middlesbrough College. It opens so many different doors in the industry.”
