Casper Rekowski
Business Management student, Casper Rekowski, shared his experience of studying at Middlesbrough College and what his plans are to progress in a career in business.
“The tutors on my course have been very helpful and covered a lot over the last 2 years. The units that covered interview and CV writing skills have helped a lot and are skills I can use in my future career and different aspects of life.
“My friends and family had recommended Middlesbrough College to me when I was first looking for a College. The Level 3 Extended Business Management course covered everything to do with the business sector, and the tutors are all passionate about units they deliver. As Middlesbrough College is quite large with lots of courses, I liked that I could socialise with different people.
“The course is very interactive. I’ve taken part in team building exercises that have helped me gain skills to work effectively and how to be a leader. I’ve been able to use the LRC to help with my course work and use the computers and reference books available. GroFar has been great to use, and I can track my work experience hours. There are also different clubs and activities at Middlesbrough College for students to take part in, such as a chess club at lunchtime.
“I have secured an apprenticeship for after I’ve completed my course at Santander for 2 years in their customer service team. Santander was a company that visited our course and gave a presentation about what they do and the different roles they had available. I liked the sound of what they represented and applied for a role. I went through a few interview stages, such as an online interview and assessment, and eventually I was one of the final 10 successful candidates after over 100 applications.
“My role will be supporting customers with different needs around their banking and finances. The fact that I speak Polish will help me support more international people. I will achieve Level 3 Customer Service once I complete the apprenticeship, and there are opportunities to explore different business sectors as well as customer service.
“I hope, one day, to have my own business and use all the skills I’ve learnt through the Extended Business Management course.
“I would definitely recommend the course to anyone who is interested in learning more about business. If you have a passion for business, you can be successful.”
