6 Step Guide To Enrolment

Enrolment is just around the corner, an exciting time where you prepare for the next step on your journey to success! However, not everyone knows the enrolment process, so we have put together this step-by-step blog on what happens once you have applied to your dream course with Middlesbrough College!

1 – Receive your enrolment details

Once you have applied, you will receive an enrolment letter and email providing details on what you need to do, so keep an eye out!

2 – Collect your GCSE results from your school

GCSE results day is on Thursday 22nd August this year. Make sure to check with your school the times you can collect your results. It is VITAL that you do this – most courses will not allow you to enrol without having your GCSE results as they are proof of reaching entry requirements, which vary between each course.

*Please note, this does not include courses within our Inclusive Learning department. *

3 – Online enrolment

Online enrolment requires you to provide your details, your parent/guardian details, and a photo of your GCSE results slip. Please have all this information ready before carrying out your online enrolment to make it easier!

If you are having issues with completing your online form, we recommend trying the following steps:

  • Make sure to use a computer or laptop if you have access to one.
  • Try using a different web browser.
  • Ensure all the fields are filled out correctly, making sure to remove extra spaces (including at the end of words!)

If it is still not working or you don’t have access to the recommended devices, then please come to Middlesbrough College and we will provide you with a device to complete your online enrolment!

*Please note, this will extend your time on site, so arriving earlier than your appointment will allow you to have the time to complete your online enrolment in time. *

4 – Designated onsite enrolment

After completing your online enrolment, you will be able to attend your appointment on site! Your previous enrolment letter will provide information about what time it is and what you need to bring along with you to your appointment. If you can’t make your enrolment date and time appointment, please call our Enrolment Hotline on 01642 333366.

You will be on site for around 2 hours. Our teams will be working as quickly as possible, but we are expecting a very busy enrolment period this year so please bear this in mind!

On arrival, you will be greeted by a member of staff who will direct you to the correct department in the College. Here you will be able to speak to a course tutor about your preferred course and what will work best for you. Once decided, the tutor will complete a form with you which you will then head over to the enrolment hall with to complete the last step of your enrolment!

5 – Complete enrolment!

Once you arrive at the enrolment hall, check in with one of our enrolment support team members who will direct you to the waiting area until an enrolment desk becomes available.

When you are directed to a desk by one of our staff, your enrolment will be processed. Whilst going through your information, we will ask you some questions about the information you have provided just to ensure it is all correct and to fill in any gaps where necessary.  We may also ask for documents of proof such as your national insurance number and GCSES results to keep on your record.

If you have not uploaded a photo in the online enrolment process, or the uploaded photo is not suitable for your ID card, we will ask to take one of you whilst you are at the desk.

Now your enrolment has been fully processed, the final step is to read and sign your learner agreement! It is important that you read over this, make sure it is all correct, and query anything you may be unsure of.

…now you are enrolled!

6- Finishing touches

After signing your learner agreement, there are just a few things left to do so you are all ready to join us in September!

  • Collect your student ID card
  • Collect your laptop (if eligible)
  • Find out your start date for induction week
  • Chat to support services if you have any questions about bursaries or travelling to College

Once you have done these steps with us, you’ll officially be a Middlesbrough College student. We can’t wait to see you all in the new academic year!
