The T Level in Science is a two-year course designed for students who are curious about how science works in real-world settings. It’s ideal if you enjoy practical, hands-on investigation and want to apply scientific knowledge to solve problems in areas like healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food science, or environmental science.
You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and lab, developing your understanding of biology, chemistry, and physics and how they are used in industry. The remaining 20% will be a substantial industry placement (around 45 days), where you’ll work with professionals in a real scientific environment — such as a research lab, hospital, food testing facility, or other science workplace.
This combination of classroom theory and practical experience means you’ll gain the technical skills, scientific knowledge, and professional behaviours employers look for, preparing you for work, apprenticeships, or further study in science-related fields.
