T Level – Digital Production, Design and Development (Programming and Software Development) – Level 3

Modules include:

• How digital technologies impact business
• The ethical and moral implications of digital technology
• Using data in software design
• Using digital technologies to analyse and solve problems
• Digital environments, including physical, virtual and cloud environments
• Emerging technical trends, such as Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Blockchain, 3D printing
• Legal and regulatory obligations relating to digital technologies
• The privacy and confidentiality of personal data
• The technical, physical and human aspects of internet security
• Planning digital projects
• Testing software, hardware and data
• Digital tools for project management and collaboration

September – June

An appropriate L2 vocational qualification and/or four GCSEs at grade 4/5 (C) or above including English and maths at grade 5.

Completing this course offers learners various opportunities for progression. Past students have progressed at Middlesbrough College, studying the HNC or HND in Computing (Software Developer). The HNC and HND qualifications are approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.

Students have also progressed to study degrees in information technology, data science and computer science.

Our MC Click scheme provides full time students (ages 16-19) on a Level 1, 2 or 3 study programmes with a free loan laptop to assist with their studies. Laptops can be collected at enrolment. Click here for more information about MC Click.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home-fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

Every T Level student will take an industry placement lasting for 45 days, helping you to gain valuable experience in the workplace and allowing employers to meet the new talent in their industry.
