NCFE CACHE Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning – Level 3

• Support positive behaviour in children and young people
• Support children and young people during learning activities

• Support the use of ICT in the learning environment
• Support Assessment for learning
• Engage in personal and professional development
• Support children and young people’s speech, language and communication
• Understand how to support bilingual learners
• Understand how to support learning of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities
• Support children and young people during transitions
• Support the role of play, leisure and extra-curricular activities for children and young people

Various start dates available. Days and times vary and will be confirmed with the IAG team

Learners will need to obtain a 2-day placement, supporting in a classroom within a school or college with ages 5 years and above.

Learners will need to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Assessment of learning is completed through taught sessions where the learner will complete formal assignments and develop a portfolio or evidence to achieve the criteria needed to pass the course. Learners will be observed putting skills in to practice within their placement setting.

This course offers progression routes onto the Level 4 Advanced Practitioner Award. Career progression includes:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant (TA3)
• Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
• Level 3 SEND Assistant

• Woking with children and adults to develop positive relationships
• Supporting the teacher in planning learning activities and assessment for learning
• Use behaviour management strategies
• Following of policies and procedures
• Supporting learners to develop English/Maths/ICT skills
• Supporting children and young people during transitions
