Mathematics (A Level) – Level 3

A Level Mathematics is split into 2 sections: Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. Applied Mathematics is then split into Statistics and Mechanics.

Pure Maths: these are the methods that we use in maths. These are mostly algebraic and requires good reasoning and problem solving.

Mechanics: modelling and analysing the physical world around us, including the study of forces and motion.

Statistics: Collecting and analysing data and using this to make predictions about future events.

This is a 2 year course studied September – June, with potential exams/coursework hand in dates/extra sessions in July.
