Fine Art (A Level) – Level 3

Course overview
By choosing to study A Level Fine Art you are taking the first exciting step towards a career in the creative industries, which contributes £84.1bn to the UK economy! This is a practical course, incorporating a range of creative techniques and processes. You will work on several mini projects in the first year, such as Portraiture, Landscape, still life and Abstract art to build your creative skills. Through the two years on this linear course, you will be encouraged to develop a sense of enquiry, an ability to take practical and intellectual risks and make considered decisions by exploring contemporary and historical references. You will show evidence of trying to extend your own work and others by exploring examples from different cultures and time periods and presenting their findings as a portfolio of work.
Explore A Levels
A Level students will be based in MC6, a modern, vibrant environment which promotes independent learning and study. The centre bridges the gap between school and university, with specialist classrooms and laboratories and open plan study and social spaces.
