Diploma in Early Years Practitioner – Level 2
Course overview
This course provides you with the knowledge of children from birth to 7 years and the practical experience of working with children in this age range. You will be introduced to the role of the early years practitioner, legislation, framework and professional practice, play, development and learning for school readiness, professional development partnerships, additional needs and safeguarding and play. You are also required to complete 250 hours of work placement in a childcare setting.
This is a pass/fail course – students must achieve all criteria to pass the course.

Childcare students will be based in our multi-million pound campus, with specialist classrooms and equipment such as cyber babies and early years resources. Completing a work placement is a crucial element of our childcare courses as it means you can apply classroom learning in a real work environment.
