Do you want to understand how laws and regulations impact our daily lives and shape the world around us? On this Applied Law course, you’ll explore complex law topics in real-world contexts, learning essential skills that will support further academic study.
You will study 4 units on this course across your 2 years of study, such as civil dispute solving and the civil courts and how they work, including the people in the courts and the role of Barristers, Solicitors and Judges. You will study an introduction to criminal courts and criminal liability, looking at the role and function of criminal courts and the people who work in those courts, such as Magistrates, Juries, Barristers, Solicitors and Judges.?
Throughout your study, you will also learn how to apply the law, exploring the laws surrounding murder and manslaughter, property offences such as theft, robbery, burglary, criminal damage and fraud, and aspects of tort, including the law of negligence.?
