Meet Tom Courtman-Stock, Middlesbrough College’s Head of Student Engagement! Tom’s role primarily involves planning and organising College enrichment programmes with support from enrichment officer, Damon Hill.
Tom said: “We bring together a package of events that students and sometimes staff can openly get involved with to broaden their development and wellbeing. Also making sure that we provide a chance for those to gain more awareness and education in different subjects.”
Tom also attended Middlesbrough College as a school leaver, completing a Level 3 vocational course in Software Development followed by a foundation degree in Software Development. Tom also previously worked with us before and is currently picking up a HNC in Networking Computer Science with our University Centre.
When we asked Tom what encouraged him to return to the College, he told us: “I wanted to pursue this role as I felt it was the correct step forward in my career. Having responsibility of a team as well as leading and supporting them is the next step I knew I was prepared to take! Being Head of Student Engagement allows me to fulfil that whilst also making an impact. My ambitions are to develop the student enrichment programmes so that it’s a well-rounded service that anyone can join in with and gain positive experiences.”
