Tiana Welikela secures role at PureGym while building her own business
After completing two years of Sport & Exercise Science before progressing onto the Level 3 Personal Training course, Tiana Welikela has secured a role as a Personal Trainer at PureGym while also running her own personal training business.
“When it came to picking a course in college, I always knew I wanted to do something in sport. Growing up, I did swimming, gymnastics and cheerleading and sport has always been a massive part of my life. I used to swim twice a day, getting up at five o’clock in the morning before school and then training again afterwards.”
“That’s why I chose to study Sport & Exercise Science before progressing onto the Level 3 Personal Training course. My experience on both courses has been fantastic. I’ve always had the support I needed and been given so many opportunities.
“One of my favourite experiences at college was going to Fiji. It really was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We delivered fitness sessions with local children and showed them that you don’t need lots of equipment or access to a gym to stay active and healthy.
“The Level 3 Personal Training course has prepared me for my future because it’s given me the knowledge and confidence to become a successful personal trainer in the fitness industry.”

Tiana now works as a Personal Trainer at PureGym Teesside Park, delivering fitness classes and supporting members to achieve their goals. Alongside this, she has launched her own self-employed personal training business, offering one-to-one coaching, online training programmes and nutritional advice.
“I’d love to open my own gym one day and create an environment where everyone feels comfortable, supported and confident.”
