Rob Hardman has been fast tracked from his Level 2 to Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning course at College and is waiting to start his new job working as a Teaching Assistant to a primary school Year 1 class!

We asked Rob about his experience studying at Middlesbrough College, he said “I have always worked well with children, and I realised I wanted to get involved and make it my career.

“I wasn’t the best student when I was younger and didn’t have much luck academically. I was nervous returning to education, but my tutors Clair and Mikayla and the team at College have been so supportive and accepting. They helped me to realise my potential, what I excel in, and have improved my confidence. I feel like I haven’t just progressed academically, I also feel that I have progressed in myself as a person.

“The course has worked well for me in so many ways. I have been able to learn around working and taking care of my children, and I’m just currently waiting to start working in a primary school. Maybe in the future I will work towards progressing onto Level 4!

“I’m excited to get where I want to be, and the College and tutors have prepared me with the right skills and tools to do so. If I can end up making a difference to even just one child, then it’s worth it.”
