Peter Banks

We spoke to Peter Banks, a student at MC Digital, about his time studying at Middlesbrough College!

He said: “Before coming to Middlesbrough College, I’d been out of education for 10 years. I wasn’t sure what to expect before starting the Access to Computing course, but I could tell straight away that I’d made the right decision.

“The tutors at MC Digital are brilliant and have been so supportive – they made the decision to study at Middlesbrough College’s University Centre an easy one! I’m now studying the HNC in Computing (Network Engineering) and I love it. I feel like I get more support here than I would at other Universities – the tutors understand that I have a life outside of the course, so it’s been easy to find a good work/life balance.

“When I finish the course, my aim is to find a full-time position in cyber security, and I think my time at Middlesbrough College has definitely helped prepare me for industry.

“My advice to anyone that is unsure about stepping back into education would be to just go for it! There are so many opportunities out there and you never know where it might lead.”
