Our Adult and Community Learning Team are excited to celebrate a learner who has been named Student of the Year by Ascentis!
Najmeh Kooshesh was presented the certificate by tutor, Jack MacGregor, who had these kind words to say:
“Najmeh has been a fantastic addition to our stepping stones class. She always brings great enthusiasm to every lesson and attacks every topic with positivity and determination.
“She always looks to encourage others and supported other learners through stressful exam periods. She took it upon herself to arrange practice sessions outside of class time with other learners so they could build up their conversation skills ahead of their speaking exam.
“Najmeh has had a lot of real-world concerns to deal with, worrying about her friends and family at home in Iran during a time of conflict. She never let this impact her attitude to learning and always strived to be the best version of herself while at college.”
