Martin Wilkinson

Martin studied the Access to Higher Education Diploma in Creative Industries (Games & Media Production) and progressed to Middlesbrough College’s University Centre to study the Higher National Certificate in Creative Media Production (Games Development). 

Martin said: “I decided to make a difference to mine, and my families lives by enrolling on the Access to HE Diploma. I had worked in a range of industries in different roles and had never found my passion in life. I’ve always loved gaming and when I discovered that Middlesbrough College had a range of exciting games development courses on offer, I decided to go to an Open Event to find out more. 

“The tutors are who sold the course to me. They were so helpful and dedicated to their students and to their subject that I knew instantly I wanted to join!  

“My tutors are so supportive of me, and they really care about me. I’m a dad with another baby on the way, so it was important that the course was flexible to fit around my family commitments. My tutors have allowed me to work flexibly around my family lifestyle and they are always at the end of an email at all hours of the day if I get stuck or have any questions. I can’t sing their praises enough! I’ve also met some amazing like-minded people on my course, and we all support each other to succeed in our studies. 

“The Access to HE Diploma has helped to improve mine and my family’s life. I’ve improved my future career prospects and I’m now studying a University level course with the College’s University Centre! I want to be an inspiration for my daughter and show her that if you put your mind to something, you can achieve it.
