Luke Warrick

We caught up with Luke Warrick, Level 3 Games Design and Development at MC Digital!

With a passion for game development, Luke Warrick has made the most of his time studying Level 3 Games Design and Development at MC Digital.

We caught up with Luke ahead of his next adventure at university, where he has a secured a place to study Game Design this September!

Luke said: “I really enjoy studying at MC Digital – the amount of software available has really helped me to develop my professional skills. You’re even allowed to use the software at home, giving me a great opportunity to practice out of hours.”

“I’ve learnt so much over the time of my course. Before I studied here, I had no idea on how to use 3ds Max – now I’m able to create almost anything I want!

“I’ve developed many skills I wasn’t even expecting to, such as using industry-standard cameras and software like premier pro. It’s great to have those extra skills, as you never know when you may need them.

“I had been recommended this course a lot, especially since I had shown such an interest in games design. So, after looking at what MC Digital had to offer, I knew that this is where I wanted to go”

Luke is excited to further his education at university this September, where he has secured a place to study Games Design!

“I feel really happy and confident about my next steps – I’ve learned all the skills in 3D I need to be able to go onto degree-level study. The course I’ve chosen at university heavily specializes in 3D design, and I know that I’m prepared for it because of what I’ve learnt at MC Digital.

After University, Luke has dreams of becoming a solo developer or working for a small games design studio.

“Id love to be able to work for myself as a solo developer. However, I’d also enjoy working for a small studio.

“Middlesbrough College prepares you well for whichever career path you choose – you even develop interview skills and how to build a portfolio and a CV.

Luke says that he really enjoyed his time at Middlesbrough College and has found it to be a friendly environment. He’s also enjoying the fact that he shares the space with so many like-minded people.

“Everyone in the building is alike and we all share similar interests. It’s really nice that we have our own dedicated digital building – it makes it much easier to make good friends.”
