Hannah studied Creative Media Production at MC Digital in 2012 before progressing to her first-choice university, building the foundation of the career she had always envisioned. Today, she’s a Customer Success Manager at Outrank, a Middlesbrough-based full-service marketing agency, where she’s doing work she truly loves!
We caught up with Hannah to talk about her journey and the role Middlesbrough College played in getting her there.
Hannah said: “The confidence, communication skills and creative thinking I developed during my time at Middlesbrough College have been invaluable in my career. The course helped shape the professional I am today and gave me the tools to thrive in a dynamic industry.
“One of my proudest moments was finding out that I had successfully completed the course and had been accepted into my first-choice university. Middlesbrough College supported me every step of the way, particularly during the university application process. I genuinely don’t think I’d be where I am today without the encouragement and guidance I received during those three years.”
When looking back at her course at MC Digital, Hannah said:
“One of the highlights for me was the opportunity to go on industry-related trips. Seeing behind the scenes of real media productions brought the learning to life and offered a glimpse into potential future careers.
“My favourite trip was to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter in Watford. As a fan of the film, it was incredible to have this included as part of the course!
“The lecturers were genuinely passionate, not only about their specialisms but also about our personal development. They were instrumental in preparing us for both further education and the workplace. They made a genuine effort to ensure I felt confident, motivated and cared for during my studies.”

“For anyone interested in a career in media, the Creative Media Production course offers valuable insights and exposure to a wide range of specialisms. It was the perfect next step for me after studying Media at GCSE and inspired me to continue my studies at degree level.
“There are so many different career paths in media, and the course gives you the opportunity to explore them in depth before deciding which direction to pursue.
“The facilities at MC Digital were excellent, providing access to industry-standard equipment and resources that allowed us to gain real, practical experience. What’s more, the excellent transport links made commuting a breeze!”

“It might sound cliché, but my biggest piece of advice is to always believe in yourself and stay true to who you are. Don’t let anyone convince you that you can’t achieve your goals – you’re in control of your future, and with hard work and determination, you can accomplish anything.
“Middlesbrough College helped me develop the confidence and independence I needed to thrive at university and in professional roles. The experience gave me a solid foundation and shaped me into someone ready to take on new challenges in the working world!”
