Emily Nyland-Jones

Meet one of our Level 3 Creative Media students, Emily Nyland-Jones!

We caught with up with Emily to hear about her time studying and why she chose Middlesbrough College. Emily told us “I really enjoy my course because of the work we do; the way we learn has a lot of freedom. Projects that I do for my course, I do all my own research and production for which just allows me to be fully creative.”

“After going to a few different open events, I decided to come to Middlesbrough College because the facilities where the best standard. The College has cameras, tech, and equipment that is cinema quality, so I feel like I’m getting the best experience whilst also learning”.

When asked what her favourite part about the course was, Emily said: “Definitely the amount of hands-on work we do. I get the chance to do work experience with the training company, Film Buddy, where I can film on actual sets and see properly what it’s like to work behind the camera.”

“I am progressing to Media next year, and hopefully will progress to University after to gain a career in film!”
