September - June

Entry requirements

You should have achieved at least five 9-5 grades at GCSE (not equivalents), including English language and maths. An average GCSE point score of 5.5 recommended (only GCSE grades for this score, not equivalents).You should have achieved a grade 6 in combined science OR grade 6 in Physics GCSE. A grade 6 in GCSE maths is recommend. You also need to be studying maths or 2 other sciences at A level (Biology/Chemistry/Computer Science).

Three written exams at the end of the year plus completion of the 12 mandatory practical activities.

You must successfully complete 12 assessed practical activities stipulated by AQA. These activities will be based on the syllabus.

University Opportunities: Past students have progressed to study degrees in physics, maths, science, engineering, medicine, law, education, sports science, games design and music.
Career Opportunities:  Career opportunities include research, engineering, transport, environment and climate, space, energy, medicine, engineering, law, teaching and sport science.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

After receiving your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview where you will have a chance to discuss which specific A Level subjects you would like to enrol on.
