Entry requirements

You should have achieved at least five 9-5 grades at GCSE (not equivalents), including English language and maths. An average GCSE point score of 5.5 recommended (only GCSE grades for this score, not equivalents).You should have achieved a grade 6 in combined science OR grade 6 in biology GCSE. A grade 6 in GCSE maths is recommended.

AS: Two 2 hour written papers each worth 50% of AS.

A2: Two 2 hour written papers each worth 35% of A2; one 2 hour written paper worth 30% of A2.

Note that the A2 exams cover both AS and A2 content.
Practical skills are endorsed separately and are completed during the course (6 practicals for AS and a further 6 practicals for A2).

University Opportunities: Past students have progressed to study degrees in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, marine biology, biomedical science, biology, health, wellbeing and social care*, physiotherapy, sports therapy with rehabilitation*, sport science, sport therapy, early childhood professional studies* and education*.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

After receiving your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview where you will have a chance to discuss which specific A Level subjects you would like to enrol on.
