Skills Bootcamps

Our Skills Bootcamp is free and offers flexible courses for up to 16 weeks, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills. 

Are you 19 or over and looking for a brand-new career? Our Skills Bootcamp is a new set of training courses designed to help students build sector specific skills and fast track to a job interviews.

The Skills Bootcamps are delivered in partnership with employers, providers and local authorities, to help support skills demands in the local area and ultimately to help people get a better job.

Digital

Digital Support - Level 3
The Digital Support Bootcamp would cover maximising the use of digital office technologies.

This will include the use of productivity software, digital communications, including collaborative technologies, and digital information systems to achieve objectives. It will include how to install and support IT systems and develop practical skills in hardware, software, networks and systems. 

Digital Marketing - Level 3
The Digital Marketing Bootcamp would cover Principles of Marketing & Google Analytics.

This is designed to support learners to develop underpinning knowledge in Digital Marketing. This course will give an understanding of marketing theory and best practice when creating campaigns and will look at different marketing channels. It will also provide learning on Google Analytics which is the most powerful and widely used tool in the marketing industry and will give valuable insights on how to improve campaigns. This can be used in a variety of businesses and industries and to demonstrate confidence. 

Data Analyst - Level 3
This course is about transforming data into advanced analytics.

It will focus on how data analytics is applied across just about every industry. Transforming data into advanced analytics will enable businesses to maximise the value of data.  
 

Advanced Manufacturing

The Advanced Manufacturing bootcamp will be delivered over 16 weeks and follow 3 engineering discipline routeways as follows:  

Mechanical route:  
3 mandatory units: 1 Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace 60GLH 2 Communications for Engineering Technicians 60 GLH 3 Mathematics for Engineering Technicians 60 GLH 3 optional units: 8 Mechanical Principles of Engineering Systems 60 GLH 9 Applications of Mechanical Systems in Engineering 60 GLH 11 Electro, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems and Devices 60 GLH  

Electrical route: 
3 mandatory units: 1 Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace 60 GLH 2 Communications for Engineering Technicians 60 GLH 3 Mathematics for Engineering Technicians 60 GLH 3 optional units: 19 Selecting and Using Programmable Controllers 60 GLH 56 Electrical and Electronic Principles in Engineering 60 GLH 29 Electrical Installation 60 GLH   

Instrumentation route: 
3 mandatory units: 1 Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace 60 GLH 2 Communications for Engineering Technicians 60 GLH 3 Mathematics for Engineering Technicians 60 GLH 

3 optional units: 19 Selecting and Using Programmable Controllers 60 GLH 37 Industrial Plant and Process Control 60 GLH 56 Electrical and Electronic Principles in Engineering 60 GLH

  • BS4827 - CAT 2 Welding Procedure - The Welding Institute (TWI)
  • Welding Coding Procedures - The Welding Institute (TWI)
  • CCNSH Health and Safety Qualification - ECITB
  • CSCS Health and Safety Gold Card for Welders - CITB
Description: The above suite of qualifications for the welding bootcamp is suitable for employed / self-employed, and unemployed candidates with a Level 2 Welding qualification. It will be delivered via workshop sessions, which will be delivered part-time over a period of up to 16 weeks.
