Rhianna Grabham studied the Certificate of Higher Education in Health, Wellbeing and Social Care at Middlesbrough College and is now on track to achieve her career goal of becoming a qualified Social Worker.
Rhianna said “My parents are foster carers and their compassion inspired me to go into a career in social care.
“I decided that I wanted to become a Social Worker- to help children in vulnerable situations. My A Levels weren’t related to social care so I needed a course that would bridge the gap and the Certificate of Higher Education in Health, Wellbeing and Social Care at Middlesbrough College did just that!
“I absolutely loved my course and I have learned so much during the one year I spent at Middlesbrough College. The course prepared me well for my degree in Social Work as I have grown in confidence and expanded my skillset. The College also provided me with the opportunity to go on placements at Ormsesby Children’s Centre and this gave me a taste of the real world.
“My tutors Jo and Lisa were absolutely incredible and are a credit to Middlesbrough College. I couldn’t have asked for better teachers and I am so grateful for all of their help and support.
“In just two years’ time I will be a registered Social Worker and I can’t thank Middlesbrough College enough for helping me to achieve this.
“My advice to any young person who is considering studying at a higher level is to consider Middlesbrough College as an option. The quality of education is outstanding and the tutors are so caring and supportive. I did it and so can you!”
