Peter Neal joined the Governing Body in August 2025, bringing with him extensive experience from across the charitable, voluntary and social enterprise sector. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from The University College London.
With over a decade of experience working within charities, Peter previously built a successful career in the private sector as a land developer and a management consultant, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. This combination of commercial and third-sector expertise provides him with a well-rounded and strategic perspective.
In his current role as Chief Executive Officer of Redcar and Cleveland Voluntary Development (RCVDA), Peter is focused on ensuring the organisation remains true to its core purpose: supporting and enabling local communities to take action and thrive. He is also a regular contributor to RCVDA’s work, writing and featuring in content focused on community development and partnership working across Redcar and Cleveland.
Peter is deeply committed to community impact beyond his executive role. He is a trustee of Hart Gables CIO, supporting the LGBTQ+ community, a co-founder of Saltburn Solidarity CIO foodbank, and a trustee of VONNE (Voluntary Organisations’ Network North East).
