Lecturer of English Language
Olivia is an English specialist at Middlesbrough College Sixth Form; over her career, she has taught across Key Stages 3–5 in high-disadvantage contexts. Her practice focuses on improving outcomes for disadvantaged learners through evidence-informed approaches, including retrieval practice and collaborative learning.
Key research interests
She contributes to whole-college literacy strategy, with key interests in research-informed pedagogy, metacognition, and widening participation.
Current research projects
Olivia is currently contributing to an ongoing Community of Practice within the Sixth Form context: How can we effectively promote independent learning and build resilience within learners?
