“I am currently in my first year of my Engineering Technician apprenticeship at Siemens Healthineers in Enynsham, Oxford. I am really enjoying my apprenticeship, especially working with the magneto terra. This is the first 7 tesla magnet used for clinical research. Once I am fully qualified as an Engineering Technician I will be involved in the making of MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scanners to achieve the highest standards in quality and performance.

“I would never have considered pursuing an apprenticeship without the help of Middlesbrough College. Middlesbrough College helped me build knowledge and also my confidence. I studied the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering (Manufacturing) over the course of two years. I learnt numerous skills such as CNC (computer numerical control), machining, further maths, electrical principles and many more.

“Middlesbrough College allowed me to create friendships for a lifetime and have the determination to reach my dream goals. In the engineering industry more females are becoming involved, so if you are interested in engineering then don’t be afraid to get involved! With the help of Middlesbrough College you will get you to where you want to be!”
