“Studying at Middlesbrough college was a fantastic experience, it allowed me to study a course tailored to the industry I wanted to enter. The facilities are modern and the teachers are great. They kept us motivated and supported us throughout the course.

“I would definitely recommend studying at Middlesbrough College. The course was very engaging, and my tutors always ensured that each student fully understood what was being taught. I don’t think that any other local college could offer the standards of teaching, resources and facilities which are offered at Middlesbrough College.

“After leaving College I wanted to get started with my career in the workplace. I am currently undertaking an apprenticeship as a Quantity Surveyor, which is what I have always wanted to do since leaving school. Whilst working 4 days a week I also attend Northumbria University via day release to go towards my relevant qualification when I graduate.

“The company I work for is a design consultancy firm. Within my apprenticeship I assist in carrying out work for North Yorkshire County Council such as school refurbishments and extensions. I’m really enjoying my role! I have a great team that I work with and the company is well-established and invests its time and financial resources into young professionals.

“My career ambition is to become a well-established chartered Quantity Surveyor. I want to build a strong portfolio and reputation for myself within the construction industry. With enough background experience I would like to work abroad – perhaps somewhere like Dubai!

“The skills I have learnt whilst studying at Middlesbrough College have been highly beneficial to my career. The course catered perfectly to my desired career path. The structure of the course allowed for wider learning of the construction industry and the facilities at the College are modern and easily accessible.

“I can gladly say I made the right choice in coming to study at Middlesbrough College and I’m excited to see where my career will take me.”
