Middlesbrough College Performing Arts (Acting) student Ethan Warren was recently awarded the Craig Conway award for Performing Arts in the Student Awards 2022. Recently, Ethan has been signed by Craig Conway’s agency, NTA Management and is set to thrive in his professional acting career.

“I’m over the moon to have signed with NTA Management. I’ll be pursuing my acting career whilst studying the Stage Operations and Management Level 3 programme at Middlesbrough College. I decided to continue studying at Middlesbrough College to further my knowledge of the industry.

“Next year I plan to apply for drama schools. My dream school is The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. It would be amazing to study in the same school as some of my favourite actors! My dream career is to be a professional actor working in television and film.

“It’s been amazing working alongside Craig Conway at Middlesbrough College. It is a brilliant partnership that the College have set up and fantastic that they have these links with the industry. When I first met Craig, I must admit I was a little starstruck as I had always admired him after watching the film ‘Doomsday’, I was terrified and mesmerised by him at the same time! During my workshops with Craig, I’ve learnt more about screen and naturalistic acting, which is something I’ve really enjoyed working on. Craig has also opened opportunities to learn more about writing and directing too which is something I’d love to do at some point in my career.

“I’ve absolutely loved studying Performing Arts at Middlesbrough College. I’ve been fortunate to perform in a wide range of shows and I’ve played some great roles too including the dame in Dick Whittington! I’ve also performed in the Halloween cabaret show, Angels in America and I’m excited about performing the lead role in our upcoming end of year musical.

“The tutors at Middlesbrough College are also brilliant. They have been so supportive of me and helped me with careers and personal advice. They don’t feel like my teachers, they feel more like supportive friends who want the best for you.

“Studying at Middlesbrough College has improved my confidence, helped me to build my skill set and allowed me to make a whole new bunch of friends too. All our class get along well- it is a brilliant College to be part of.

“My advice to anyone thinking of coming to Middlesbrough College to study Performing Arts  is to give it a go! Don’t be nervous and get stuck in with all the challenges and opportunities the College throws at you. Performing allows you to be whatever you want to be, and Middlesbrough College provides you with so many opportunities to be creative.

“The Performing Arts course at Middlesbrough College has helped me to get to where I want to be and helped me to get my foot in the door. We also have extra-curricular opportunities to perform as we have the option to join the Drama club outside of class hours! I would 100% recommend studying here!”
