Becky Remmer is studying the Certificate of Higher Education in Health, Wellbeing and Social Care at Middlesbrough College.
Becky said “Since starting my course in September 2019, I have grown and developed more than I would have ever hoped. I was extremely apprehensive at the beginning of my course and I had lots of worries and concerns about whether I could actually complete the course. I’m a mature student and have dealt with anxiety most of my life, so endeavouring to do something as challenging as this was daunting.
“As soon as I began my course I knew I had made the right decision. I instantly felt at ease, honestly the class is like one big family. I have also met friends for life.
“I had absolutely zero self-belief at the beginning of this course and whether or not I was academically and professionally ready for such commitment, but 5 months in, I can honestly say it has been one of the best experiences of my life. I have been supported and guided through this journey and I can only thank the people around me for that.
“I feel blessed to be a part of such a fantastic College and would encourage anyone to enrol. I’m now coming towards the last 3 months of my course and I have developed a newfound confidence, which has been refreshing.
“After I’ve finished my course I’m hoping to pursue a career as an Associate Nurse Practitioner and will be studying for an NHS qualification whilst working. I’m so excited about the future and my career.
“This course has not only developed me academically, it has developed me as a person. The words and encouragement from staff and guest speakers on the course have shone light on things in my private life too. It has been one of the best experiences of my life and would not hesitate to go back into education in the future, and this is all thanks to my tutors at Middlesbrough College.
