Anastacia chose to take part in the Mix it up programme at Middlesbrough College and studied BTEC Human Biology, A Level Psychology, and A Level Geography. She is now in her second year at the University of Nottingham studying for a degree in Neuroscience.

Anastacia said: “I loved studying at Middlesbrough College. The College was so welcoming and friendly, and the facilities are amazing. During my studies, I was Vice President of the College Student Voice, and I also played volleyball in the Sports Academy! From the sports hall to the A-level classrooms, everything in the College is perfect.”

“Doing an Extended Project Qualification has helped to give me a head start at University. I still use the skills I have learnt from my EPQ to this day!

“I would 100% recommend studying at Middlesbrough College Sixth Form. It is definitely the next step up from secondary school in terms of gaining independence and discovering who you are and what you want from your future.

“A Levels are difficult, and it was not an easy 2 years, but it pushed me to be the best version of myself, and with that, I managed to get into my first-choice University to study for a degree in Neuroscience.

“With my career aspirations, I would love to pursue a career in research. I am interested in topics such as near-death experiences, consciousness replication during dreaming, and consciousness itself.”
