"I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in the construction industry, and after coming along to an open event at Middlesbrough College I was really impressed with the facilities on offer.

"The industry is something that has run in my family for many years - my Grandad was an Engineer in the Army so I am proud to carry on his legacy! It's great to be making my family so proud.

"The course is brilliant as you are able to get a feel of what it is like to work in the field. Not only that but my time at college has allowed me to pick up skills in everything from money management to time keeping.

"I didn't know anyone at the College when I started the course and I really liked the idea of a fresh start. The teachers made settling in really easy.

"Lessons are always very interactive and we are taught in a number of different ways to ensure we take everything in - they are always really fun!

"As well as the support on offer from the tutors, we are also given the chance to carryout work experience which I'm really looking forward to. It's a great opportunity to put our knowledge into practice and get a feel of what it's going to be like working in the industry.

"I've really enjoyed my experience at the College so far, everything from the facilities on offer to the support available has been great. The College really respect different religions which is something that is very important to me.

"After finishing the course I am keen to progress onto further education to eventually become a Civil Engineer or an Architect. Thanks to the mix of practical and theory on the course I feel like I have picked up the skills and knowledge to help me go onto the next step.

"I'd definitely recommend coming to the College, my experience has been brilliant and I've made friends for life!"

"In the run-up to me finishing school I decided to look around a few colleges in the area to get a feel of what was on offer. After visiting Middlesbrough College I was really impressed with the campus thanks to the vast size and the range of facilities.

"The atmosphere also felt really nice which is something that definitely stood out to me.

"The teachers and the level of learning here is excellent. They make each lesson engaging and run through each subject thoroughly - however if we ever have any questions they are always more than happy to help.

"We have had a number of employer come into class to talk about life in the industry - I'm also awaiting to hear back on dates for work experience which is exciting!

"I've always known that I wanted to pursue a career as a Civil Engineer - the majority of my family work in the sector so it's something that I'm happy to carry on!

"The location of the College is ideal, it's just a short work to Middlesbrough town centre and handy for all transportation links. There's also a good sized car park for students to park on campus.

"Following the course I'm keen to go onto an apprenticeship so I can get further hands-on experience. I feel like my BTEC has prepared me for the next step so I would highly recommend coming to the College to study."

Lessons are always very interactive and we are taught in a number of different ways to ensure we take everything in - they are always really fun!
