NCFE CACHE Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning – Level 2

Units include:

• Understand children and young people’s development
• Safeguarding children and young people
• Equality, diversity and inclusion in a learning environment for children and young people
• Maintain relationship with children and young people
• Support the health and safety of children and young people
• Support positive behaviour in a learning environment for children and young people
• Contribute to teamwork in a learning environment
• Understand children and young people’s play and leisure
• Promote an effective learning environment
• Provide displays in a learning environment

Days and times vary and will be confirmed with the IAG team

Learners will need to obtain a 2-day placement, supporting in a classroom within a school or college with ages 5 years and above.

Learners will need to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Assessment of learning is completed through taught sessions where the learner will complete formal assignments and develop a portfolio or evidence to achieve the criteria needed to pass the course. Learners will be observed putting skills in to practice within their placement setting.

This course offers progression routes onto the Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and learning. Career progression includes:

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant (TA2)
• Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
