Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship

Duties may include:

• Conduct safety checks and monitor performance of machines and work area.
• Read and interpret engineering data and drawings; plan machining schedule.
• Inspect materials for quality; report issues.
• Plan machining sequence; ensure correct tooling and materials.
• Set up, operate, and adjust conventional or CNC machines.
• Machine complex components using various processes.
• Inspect and adjust components to meet quality standards.
• Report issues affecting quality, quantity, and deadlines.
• Complete documentation for all machining activities.
• Maintain and clean work area; manage waste.
• Inform stakeholders about machining work.
• Perform daily inspections and machine shutdowns.
• Support continuous improvement activities.

You must have achieved GCSE English language and maths at grade 4 or above, or Functional Skills Level 2. Individual employers may also set their own requirements.

This apprenticeship is recognised by relevant professional engineering institutions at the appropriate level of professional registration.
