At the end of the course the delegate should be able to:

- Name the different types of bearings and their applications
- Explain the common bearing failure modes
- Identify bearing parts and state their functions
- Remove, strip and replace a variety of bearings using bearing pullers, hydraulic press, jacking bolts, back plates and induction heater on a simple piece of rotating equipment
- Can correctly identify the appropriate lubrication oil from documentation
- State the reason for lubrication
- Know the methods of application
- Select correct lubrication in regard in machinery performance
- Apply lubrication as per manufacturers instructions
- State the reason for filtration
- Can completely remove, strip and replace bearings on a sample piece of rotating equipment
- Understand and can explain the principles of operations of main bearing types used
