Art and Design Skills (Including Art and Design/Fashion and Textiles/Photography and Graphics) – Level 2

• Drawing, Painting and other Mark Making
• Exploring the uses of Media and Techniques
• Fashion and Textiles
• Photography and Graphics
• Printmaking
• 2D and 3D work
• Illustration

1 Year

You must have achieved an appropriate Level 1 vocational qualification and / or four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above.

A portfolio is a key part of the interview process.

You will be assessed through practical work and other assignments. A practical examination which is externally set and graded is part of the assessment.

You can progress to a relevant Level 3 course.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home-fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

All full time students will be offered a number of options to secure at least 10 days of meaningful work experience during the year. This is an important aspect of the course and will help to develop your skills to get a job, progress to a higher level qualification at Middlesbrough College or potentially gain a place at university.
