William Laird

August 18, 2023

William Laird, from Yarm, is about to start his second year in his T Level in Building Services Engineering for Construction. “The course is challenging, but overall it’s a great experience,” says William. “The hands-on learning really helped with the classroom-based learning, and it gave us a full understanding of how things work. I’ve enjoyed both this practical and theoretical learning, which is really unique with T Levels.”

Explaining what drew him to T Levels, William says “I’ve always been a hands-on learner, and I’m fascinated by the physics of engineering.”

“The tutors at Middlesbrough College are helpful and supportive, helping us get to where we need with the course.”

William is now about to begin his second year of T Levels, and is considering an apprenticeship after that. His long-term ambition is to enter a managerial role in the engineering sector.

And William’s advice for incoming students? “Pay attention to every unit – you never know what will come up in the exam!”
