I was keen to change the path of my career so looked into the possibility of completing an access course at Middlesbrough College.

I visited one of the open events, and thanks to the wide range of subject areas on offer, I was able to pursue my interest in the health and care industry. 

I enrolled onto the Access to Health course and despite not being in education for 11 years, I quickly got into the rhythm of student life.

It required a lot of dedication and hard work, which is something to bare in mind if you will be working full-time, but it’s so worth it!

The course was fantastic and I can’t thank the tutors enough for their support. We covered everything from algebra to drug dosages, meaning we were fully equipped with the knowledge for university.

I graduated in May and am now working as a paramedic which is so rewarding. 

If you’re considering studying an access course, you won’t regret it – it has changed my life!”
