Instructor Demonstrator Assessor
Kieran is an Instructor Demonstrator Assessor at MC Digital, teaching and supporting computing and media students at Middlesbrough College. As well as his part-time role at the College, Kieran is studying his BSc (Hons) Computing course with us at University Centre Middlesbrough!
Kieran said: “I studied Level 3 IT at the College and progressed to study the Foundation Degree in Computing at the College’s University Centre. The whole experience has been brilliant as I’ve had fantastic support from my tutors.
“Studying at degree level at Middlesbrough College was an easy decision for me as I valued the smaller class sizes and the 1:1 support from my teachers. I didn’t want to go away to University, so staying at the College was the perfect option for me. My teachers have been amazing, they stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technology and update their teaching accordingly.
“I was delighted when I was offered the opportunity to become an Instructor Demonstrator Assessor alongside my University studies with the College! It’s the perfect situation for me as I can support students, gain experience in teaching and complete my degree. The College have been flexible around my studies too and everyone is so supportive.
“In my role at the College I support and teach students on Level 2 and Level 3 computing and media courses and cover classes when needed. It’s a strange experience as I have to swap between my staff and student lanyards and some of my tutors are now my colleagues and managers!
“Middlesbrough College is a brilliant community to be part of. The facilities at MC Digital are also incredible! It’s brilliant to work and study in a new building that has the latest equipment and technology.
