Overview

This course is a broad introduction to performing arts, equipping you with a background in many performance skills. Within these subjects you will develop skills in the following disciplines: acting, dance and musical theatre/singing. You will take part in a performance, develop your performance skills and perform an individual repertoire and showcase.

September - June

Entry requirements

You must have achieved an appropriate Entry Level vocational qualification and/or GCSEs at grade 2-1 (E-F) or above.

You will be assessed via assignments, projects, observations of practical work, rehearsals and performance.

You can progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for university we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

Explore Performing Arts

Performance and Production Arts students will have access to an on-site 156 seat commercial theatre with full sound and lighting capabilities plus many modern rehearsal rooms. Here, students will get the chance to develop their confidence and professionalism in one of our many productions across the year, either performing on stage or supporting with the staging, sound and music.
