Overview

This course will give you an insight into the sports industry, with particular focus on supporting sporting and leisure activities and events as well as sports leadership.

You will learn about how the body works, develop skills for leadership and teamwork with the opportunity to plan your own fitness programme and sporting event. You will also undertake voluntary work in a sport and leisure environment.

Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Entry requirements

You must have achieved an appropriate Entry Level vocational qualification and/or GCSEs at grade 2-1 (E-F) or above.

You will be assessed through assignments, practical tasks, group work, peers assignments, voluntary work and other activities.

You can progress onto the Level 2 Sport course or Level 2 Instructing Exercise and Fitness.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances.

Sport & Leisure

Sports students will learn theoretical based study in the classroom, whilst taking part in a range of sport and fitness activities. Taught by specialist tutors and coaches, many of which are ex professionals in their field, you'll benefit from fantastic facilities including an AstroTurf pitch, a strength and conditioning suite and a physiology lab.
