Overview

This advanced programme of work is specifically designed for those people who have achieved a Level 2 in Professional Cookery or have attained an equivalent qualification and wish to continue their development of the knowledge and skills.

Students must complete 16 modules to achieve a full certificate.

Entry requirements

You must have achieved a minimum of an NVQ Level 2 within Food Prep and Cooking or any other related Level 2 Professional Cooking Qualification.

You will also be required to attend an informal interview.

Students will have the opportunity of working in the restaurant, undertaking a skills/larder session and demonstrate their knowledge in a theory class.

Assessments will take place in an RWE (Realistic Working Environment).

Work in a professional kitchen in a junior supervisory position such as a senior commis chef or a junior chef de partie.

If you are aged 19 or over, you may be required to pay fees depending on your residency status, educational background and personal circumstances. Many people qualify for free tuition fees, for more information please contact Course Information on 01642 333333.

Level 3 Entitlement: If you are aged 19 - 23 on the start date of the course and this is your first full Level 3 qualification the course is free. 

Advanced Learner Loan: If you are aged 19-23 and this is not your first full Level 3 qualification or you are aged 24 or over on the start date of the course, you will have to pay fees. However, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. You can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to fund all or part of the fee. Please click the apply now button at the top of this page which will take you to an application form to apply for A Levels, or you can download a full time course application here and print it out, complete the form and send it to the College. You only need to apply once for A Level programmes. After receiving your application form you will be invited to attend an informal interview where you will have a chance to discuss which specific A Level subjects you would like to enrol on.
