Part-time, 1 day per week in College for 10 weeks

Assessment of knowledge and skills is achieved via a range of written assessment (i.e. completion of workbooks) and tutor / peer observation.

The evidence of achievement that learners gather is important as a source of pride and future workplace reference, and is vital for the award of NOCN credits and qualifications.  For these reasons (and the fact that record-keeping skills are a must for their union role) all learners will be encouraged to keep a well-organised record of the work they carry out in completing activities.

The TUC Education Programme offers a range of units at certificate and diploma level which allow union representatives to develop their knowledge and skills over a period of time.  Areas of learning and development include:
• Contemporary Trade Unionism
• Employment Law for Trade union Representatives
• Health and Safety for Trade Union Representatives
