You will gain an understanding of the spectrum used to assert the height of particular autistic conditions, as well as how they can affect people in a myriad of ways.

As well as exploring the importance of using a person-centred approach to provide support.

  • Introduction to autism
  • Using a person-centred approach to support individuals with autism
  • Communication and social interaction in individuals with autism
  • Sensory processing, perception and cognition in individuals with autism 
  •  Supporting positive behaviour in individuals with autism
  • Supporting individuals with autism to live healthy and fulfilled lives

You will study around your current lifestyle, when it suits you.

You should expect to be studying for around 5-10 hours per week.

Entry requirements

The course is delivered and assessed on line; those that apply will need internet access.

You will also need to have the skills to be able to complete level 2 written online assignments.

You will be assessed throughout the course by a series of short answer assessment questions. You will answer a handful of relevant assessment questions at the end of each section you complete, before submitting your answers for your tutor to mark
